Where Are They Now?

Rhys Baggridge joined West Division side Salisbury from Chippenham earlier in the season and scored for them in their 8-2 win over Cirencester on Tuesday night.

That win moved Salisbury up to third in the table, three points behind Bristol Manor Farm and Taunton who are both on 16 points, apparently 3 teams going up, just 1 going down from our league, Anyone know the details of the re-structure next season?

As far as I understand it the current arrangement of three divisions of 24 clubs each is to be replaced by four divisions of 22 clubs each for 2018/19.

To achieve, this, there are the usual arrangements for promotion from the Southern Premier but only one club will be relegated (likely to be Dunstable?).

Promotion from the lower divisions will be as follows:

As well as the Champion of each divisions, the Runners Up will also be promoted automatically. Also, the Third Place side with the best playing record in all 6 Leagues across the Country (The North and South EvoStik Divisions, The Evostik League Southern Central and South & West and the Bostik [formally the Ryman League] North and South) on Points per Game record will be promoted as well.
There will also be a Playoff in each of the 6 divisions on top of all this, meaning that overall there will be 19 teams promoted to Step 3.

6 as Champions from each of the 6 Step 4 Leagues,
6 as Runners Up,
6 playoff winners
and a Third Place side with the best playing record in the 6 Step 4 leagues.

Have you got that? (Questions may be asked about it later).

So I suppose for Merthyr it means the usual promotion places are available, but only one relegation place to worry about. If neither happens for the Martyrs then next season may or may not mean a sideways move into the new division depending on how clubs are allocated to it.
