Annual General Meeting

Post  Merthyr Imp on Thu Apr 20, 2017 3:20 pm

Not much to report.

Must be the lowest turnout I can remember - I don't think there were more than 30 people present, almost a third of them being Board members and staff.

The Club Secretary in his report commented on where the club is now compared to seven years ago.

An account was given of the varied use being made of the club's facilities by all sections of the community.

There was a discussion on the number of Board members.

The proposal to alter the annual accounting period to be year ending 31 May each year was carried.

And that was about it apart from some announcements:

There is to be a home pre-season friendly on 5th August against Hednesford Town.

Approaches are being made to Atalanta to see if there is a possibility of their visiting to play a friendly match to mark the 30th anniversary of the Cup Winners' Cup matches with them.

The Craig Bellamy evening on 12th May has sold out.

Whatever it does - or more to the point, doesn't - say, a reminder that the Board Minutes are to be read by Owners only and ought not to be 'quoted' on a public Forum.

Seems like double standards!!! I was positive Mr imp
Pointed out minutes and the such were for owners
only ???? Perhaps the AGM is not counted or Mr imp as his own rules!!!

Interesting point.

Suggest these are general notes taken at the event. As such, its an interpretation, as opposed to the formally approved record of the meeting (al la minutes).

Said before, I'm not quite sure what underlies the concern about making the minutes more of a public record. If there are any 'below the line' items they can be treated as such, or redacted accordingly. As I say - personal opinion. I know there are a number of others who think differently.
