Match Day Parking

Post  nocturnalme on Mon Apr 25, 2016 1:09 pm

I was feeling lazy last Saturday so decided to drive to the game. I was late so was surprised not to see the Car Park Full sign and even more surprised when nobody stopped me as I parked at the ground. So, was this an oversight or is parking now free on match days? Seems like a lot of money to lose, especially as I was quite willing to pay! Any ideas?

Most people using the car park are either players, officials, sponsors or people who have paid for a reserved place. With the need to man two turnstiles and provide extra 50 50 sellers, programme sellers etc there is a shortage of volunteers to enable manning of the gate, so it was decided for the last two games of the season not to man the gate, as takings are relatively small. The situation will be reviewed for next season.
The car park was supervised and the gates closed when no unreserved spaces available.

Just a thought why not revert to the £50 charge and possibly sell more reserved parking spaces for next season.
